Parishioners seek police protection

Tirunelveli: The parishioners of St. Antony's Church, Palayamkottai, sought protection from the District Administration and the Department of Police in Tirunelveli on Friday ahead of the flag hoisting at the renovated Parish on August 17.
The parishioners, who submitted a petition, claimed that many parishioners were not agreeing to hoist the flag approved of by a committee headed by the Bishop. They had themselves designed flags which would certainly create animosity among the parishioners here and lead to a major clash. The Parish was being developed with donor funding irrespective of caste, creed and culture. Hence they sought the intervention of district administration to settle the issue amicably.
