K. Shivshankar (right) gets the winner's prize from A. Vellayan, president of SICCI. Chennai: K. Shivshankar won the gold division title at the SICCI Centenary Golf Challenge here on Saturday, scoring 40 points in the single-round stableford-format competition. Shivshankar, an architect with a handicap of 11, pipped Shaun Wedick by a single point to the title. Karthik Krishnaswamy and Mangala Devi took the silver division and ladies' titles respectively, the latter category decided on count-back. The event, initiated this year as part of the centenary celebrations of the South India Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attracted over 80 participants from a number of corporate houses. A. Vellayan, President, SICCI, gave away the trophies. The results (stableford format): Gold Division: 1. K. Shivshankar 40, 2. Shaun Wedick 39. Silver Division: 1. Karthik Krishnaswamy 41, 2. Gopi Natarajan 39. Ladies: 1. Mangala Devi 30 (winner on count-back), 2. Sonam Chugh 30. Veterans (60 years and above): 1. J. Venkatramana 37 (winner on count-back), 2. Jagan Seshadri 37. Longest Drive: Chummar Verghese. Closest to Pin: Mani Ratnam .
