Knowledge centre for farmers set up

KOZHIKODE: The Haritham Farmers Club, sponsored by the South Malabar Gramin Bank (SMGB), Medical College branch, under the Gramadeepam Project of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has set up a Village Knowledge Centre at Mayanad here.

B. Nagesh Kumar, assistant general manager, NABARD, inaugurated the centre at a function on Saturday. These centres are being set up all over the country to make the farming community aware of the latest market trends and price movements and help them in procuring quality seedlings and other farm inputs through modern information technology facilities.

The centre has computers with Internet connection and the farmers will be trained on using computers.
