Free eye camp for pensioners held

Salem: Telecom BSNL Pensioners' Association, Salem SSA, conducted a free eye camp for pensioners in co-ordination with Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital, Salem on Sunday.

A press release from its Joint Secretary K Ramani said the camp was inaugurated by M Amirthalingam, retired Deputy General Manager, Salem, BSNL. More than 40 people underwent eye checking of which 11 pensioners had been referred for further treatment. Eights had been identified for cataract surgery. Vice President N Kadirvelu, Secretary Parameswaran and Treasurer R Elango organised the camp in which doctors Senthilkumar, Sita and Suganya took part.
