ADILABAD:K. Banaiah alias Banesh, 33, a hardened criminal committed suicide on Monday by shooting himself with the tapancha he was carrying on his person. The incident took place at a house in Rajampet village in Dandepalli mandal from where the police recovered the tapancha with six rounds and an empty round. Police also rescued a 17-year-old girl belonging to Chintapalli village whom the criminal had kidnapped on the previous day. The girl was taken to Rajampet at gunpoint, it is said. Rajampet villagers surrounded the house where Banaiah had confined the kidnapped girl. Sensing danger of being lynched by angry villagers, he is said to have shot himself to death. There are two murder cases, two dacoities and four cases of kidnap registered against the deceased at Mancherial.
