Assault: editor interrogated

KOCHI: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the assault on T.J. Joseph, teacher at Newman College, Thodupuzha, on Monday interrogated P. Koya, chief editor of the Thejus daily and national committee member of the Popular Front of India (PFI). The right palm of Mr. Joseph was chopped off on July 4 by suspected PFI activists. The SIT had found that suspects had made calls to mobile connections owned by the news daily.

The SIT also interrogated Niyaz Kalady against whom a look-out notice was issued after it was found that an injured assailant was taken in his car for treatment.
