NEW DELHI: National Geographic Channel plans to present an exclusive national platform titled “Green Conclave” to discuss, debate and determine the path forward for our planet. The conclave will comprise panel discussions on India's position over relevant issues related to environment and conservation. It will bring together the country's political leaders and corporate honchos, conservationists and celebrities under one roof for the first time to discuss the future of our planet and our role in going forward. It will also showcase India's eco heroes, an initiative by the channel to acknowledge the extraordinary work that ordinary people across the country are undertaking to make a difference to the planet. These eco heroes will be awarded at the conclave. Registration for the eco heroes is on. The selection criterion for applicants is based on varied parameters that include uniqueness of the initiative, duration of its operations, the actual product or service, its measurability and its growth story. Interested participants can log on to www.natgeotv.co.in/green for registration. Along with the application form, participants will also need to post a brief statement of purpose for the initiative undertaken. The participants can send in their entries latest by August 31. The best five entries short-listed from across the country will be awarded at the “Green Conclave”. National Geographic Network Managing Director Keertan Adyanthaya says: “Through this initiative, National Geographic Channel will bring together leaders of the nation under one roof to discuss their contributions and responsibilities towards a greener planet.”Arctic Holdings, a firm focused on climate change mitigation, energy efficiency, social venture and sustainability, is the content and knowledge partner for the conclave and is supported by CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development.
