Poojith triumphs

Chennai: Poojith Kumar claimed the Tiruvallur district junior badminton title after defeating Ravi Ranjan Prasad 15-13, 15-13 in the final while Tamil Selvi won the Girl's under-19 and under-16 crowns here at the Kamalam John Samuel Indoor Stadium on Sunday.

The results (all finals): Boys: Under-19: C. Poojith Kumar Reddy bt S. Ravi Rajan Prasad 15-13, 15-13. Doubles: Samraj & Saminathan bt P. Poorna Venkat & Bhuvanesh 16-21, 21-10, 21-14.

Under-16: S. Ravi Ranjan Prasad bt T. Ganesh 21-11, 21-11. Doubles: S. Ravi Ranjan & T. Ganesh bt Chandra Mouli & Manikandan 26-24, 22-14. Under-13: Naresh bt Viswam 21-5, 21-19. Doubles: Haran & Naresh bt Ramanthan & Imthiyas Hussain 21-14, 21-16.
