Man killed in gang war

BANGALORE: Sanjay Kumar (27), a resident of MC Layout in Vijayanagar, died of injuries in an alleged gang war over collection of hafta from commercial establishments here on Monday.

According to the police, Kumar was picked up by a gang from his residence on Sunday night. He was left with fatal injuries in Vijayanagar and was admitted to a private hospital. Later, he was shifted to NIMHANS and then to another private hospital. However, he died on Monday evening, the police said.

The West Division police claimed that Kumar was into collection of hafta from commercial establishments. When he entered the other gang's limits, differences broke out leading to the attack, police said. The police have registered a case.
