Elephant tramples elderly woman to death

Coimbatore: Ramayi (75) of Villuppuram working in a brick kiln in Thadagam area was trampled to death by an elephant near her house on Monday.

Forest officials visited the scene of death and held inquiries.

Officials have deployed anti-depredation squad personnel to scare the elephant away into the jungles.
