Mid-year refit review held

VISAKHAPATNAM: Chief of Material, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) Ganesh Mahadevan arrived here on Tuesday on a two-day visit to the Eastern Naval Command and called on Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Anup Singh.

Later, Vice-Admiral Mahadevan chaired the Mid-Year Refit and Infrastructure Review 2010 held at the Naval Dockyard. The conference is an apex body that formulates long-term maintenance plan for all ships and submarines.

Speaking on the occasion, the Flag Officer lauded the contribution of repair yards in enabling prolonged deployment of Indian Naval Ships. He also emphasised the need for advance repair technology to economise on money and time. He is scheduled to visit various Naval organisation on Wednesday.
