“Withdraw case against Guru”

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Vanniyar Sangam on Tuesday asked the State government to unconditionally withdraw the case filed against Vanniyar Sangam and PMK leader J. Guru.

Alleging that there was an attempt to eliminate Mr. Guru, the sangam, affiliated to the PMK, demanded police protection for him. “If he faces any attack the police will be held responsible,” a resolution passed at a meeting said. The meeting warned that the sangam would launch a massive protest if the Statefailed to conduct caste-wise census in Tamil Nadu.
