Telescopes on sale at Parishad book fair

Kozhikode: The telescopes that are on sale at the book fair organised by the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishad near Mananchira have turned out to be an added attraction at the event.

Besides dictionaries and books, 114-mm telescopes are drawing large crowds at the fair, its organisers said on Wednesday.

Also available at the fair are Parishad's ‘hotboxes' (thermocol containers for energy-efficient cooking), books and other publications of the Kerala Sastra Sahitya Prishad, State Institute of Languages, Institute of Children's Literature, DC Books, NBS and NBT. Talks and screening of films on science-related subjects are held every day in the evening. The fair will conclude on August 22.
