PUDUCHERRY: A joint meeting of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India, the Forward Block, the Republican Party of India and the Revolutionary Socialist Party have decided to call for a bandh on August 24 if the Medical Council of India failed to give permission to Government Medical College to start admission immediately. Tamil Nadu State Committee member of CPI(M) T. Murugan told The Hindu that the joint meeting of all the parties on Wednesday decided to organise a bandh if the MCI failed to grant permission to the college to start admission during the current academic year.
