KRISHNAGIRI: Erecting dais for public meetings by political parties on the roads have been become a regular affair. Private property Roads are not their private property and it has been creating a traffic bottleneck and causing inconvenience to the public, laments a few passengers waiting for town bus on Mahatma Gandhi Road, a main thorough fare leading to the district headquarters hospital and old bus stand where a dais has been set up by a political party. Passengers waiting at the bus wanted the the police and district administration to put an end to such kind of public nuisance. Ambulances The most affected are ambulances which could not reach the hospital on time. It had travel the narrow path. When contacted by The Hindu, Deputy Superintendent of Police J. Lakshmanasamy said that permission was accorded to the political party to erect the stage but not to that extent i.e. occupying three-forth of the road. Social workers said that the police instead of giving permission to hold public meetings on the middle of the road can suggest holding the meeting at an alternative site, near the Coronotion grounds. They also pointed out that such kind of violations vary from party to party. Meanwhile, Finance Minister K.
