47 labour cases disposed

VISAKHAPATNAM: A labour court on Wednesday disposed of 47 cases concerning child labourers and non-payment of minimum wages.

Assistant Labour Commissioner R. Srinivasa Rao took up non-payment of minimum wages to 69 employees in various shops and establishments and the respective managements. The managements gave a demand draft for Rs.2.47 lakhs.

Besides, arrangements to enrol child labourers in schools were made by making five owners pay the difference in wages to them.

Of the cases, five were from Circle 1, 27 from Circle II and 3 from Circle VII.
