‘There are no cases of A(H1N1), dengue'

Staff Correspondent

Bijapur: Deputy Commissioner S.S. Pattanshetty has urged the people not to panic owing to rumours about the spread of A(H1N1) and dengue fever in the district as no cases of dengue and A(H1N1) have been reported.

Since January 2010, 18 persons had had symptoms of A(H1N1) in the district. All of them were provided treatment and they are normal now, he said.

As a precautionary measure, people can cover their mouth and nose with a handkerchief or tissue paper while coughing or sneezing, wash hands at regular intervals with soap and water, avoid crowded places, keep at least an arms distance away from people with symptoms of influenza such as cough, running nose, sneezing and fever, he said.

Only one case of dengue fever had been reported in the district in the last eight months and the doctors have provided treatment to that person, the Deputy Commissioner said.
