HYDERABAD: The Indian School of Business (ISB) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Limited signed a memorandum of understanding here on Thursday to establish “Dr. Reddy's Cell for Employability and Skilling” in ISB. It will take up research to develop market-based solutions to address the shortage of skills among youth in the country. The MoU was signed by Dean of ISB Ajit Rangnekar and vice-chairman and CEO of Dr. Reddy's G.V. Prasad. The cell would not take up any direct training programme but it would conduct in-depth and inter-disciplinary research to develop catalytic, affordable, profitable and replicable solutions to improve the employability of the youth, the two said after signing the agreement. Dr. Reddy's would pump in Rs. 10 crore over a period of next five years into the Centre for Emerging Market Solutions (CEMS) at ISB for promoting research in the area of employability and skill development for youth. The cell would work with partners to implement pilot projects, test their feasibility and demonstrate the impact of business models, they stated. The focus of research would be on banking, financial services, retail, healthcare and education services“The cell will make a big impact on the employability of youth in the next few months”, Mr. Rangnekar claimed. Executive Director CEMS Reuben Abraham, Head of Dr. Reddy's Foundation Jitendra Kalra were also present.
