Protest against rebel attacks

IMPHAL: Employees of the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation (MTDC) abstained from official work on Wednesday protesting the beating up of some employees and kidnappings of three others by rebels.

The armed rebels were demanding contracts and cuts from the bills of the completed works executed by the MTDC.

The two engineers and the accounts officer were whisked away in a car.

Though the police have registered a case no arrest has been made so far.
