Muthu begins well

CHENNAI: Top seed Muthu Palaniappan and second seed Aditya Subramaniam are among the 68 players leading with full points after three rounds on the opening day of the Homeland international rating chess tournament, organised by the King's Chess Foundation, here on Friday. The event, which is for those rated below 1600, has attracted a record 753 players, of whom 160 are rated.

The event, which has attracted entries from Manipur, Orissa, and Maharashtra besides the four southern states, also has foreign players.
