Four held for possession of lottery tickets

Coimbatore: The special teams of the Coimbatore City Police have arrested four persons and seized lottery tickets from them in three different incidents at Pappanickenpudur and Ukkadam areas.

Police Commissioner C. Sylendra Babu and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), P. Nagarajan constituted special teams led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Law and Order – West), K. Kumarasamy to conduct drive against lottery tickets that are banned in Tamil Nadu.

The teams found Sudalaimani (51) at Pappanaickenpudur being in possession of 170 lottery tickets and Rs. 9,050 and nabbed Abdul Rahim (52) of Sidhapudur on Ukkadam bypass road and seized 325 lottery tickets. In another incident, the police arrested Abdul Rahman (55) of Fort and Kaja Mohideen (49) of Fort area near Ukkadam and seized 5,100 lottery tickets and Rs. 2,270.

A case has been registered against all of them.
