Mannargudi: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the Mahasamprokshanam, M.Chandrasekaran, Tiruvarur District Collector said. “In anticipation of a huge turnout, special bandobust , transport , water supply and other sanitation facilities have been provided. Emergency services like ambulance and fire tenders have been kept ready. Multi-colour decoration was given only to the Rajagopuram in the past Mahasamprokshanams. But it was only this time, all the gopurams and vimanams have been included, the Collector said. The temple has been renovated at an outlay of Rs. 1. 70 crore, including Rs. 70 lakh from donors and the balance form the State government. The temple has a 50 feet tall monolith stone pillar with a Garuda shrine on top. Float festival is held at the Haridra Nadhi (theppakulam). The temple has been praised by Manavala Mamunigal, Muthuswamy Dikshithar and Oothukadu Venkatasubbaiyer . Brahmotsavam is held in the Tamimonth of Panguni (March 25 to April 15). Other important festivals fall in Aani and Aadi. Yagasala Pujas start on August 20. The Poorvanga puja was performed on August 19. Mahasamprokshanam will be performed at 9 a.m. on August 22.
