Udhagamandalam: The Nilgiris Collector Archana Patnaik on Saturday inspected some of the areas near here which had been affected by the heavy rains on Friday night. She met the flood-affected people and farmers at Karagal, Maragal, Nellimund, Oormalai, Mel-Thoraihatty, Gandhinagar, Iduhatty and Kothumudi. Later, she said that the officials concerned have been instructed to assess the damage.
