Guntur: The Department of Business Management of RVR & JC Engineering College organised a guest lecture on ‘Military Strategy and Business Strategy' for second year MBA students on Saturday. Lt.Col. A..D. Tensingh, Officer Commanding of Andhra Engineer Company of NCC Group Headquarters, Guntur delivered the lecture. He said for predicting intentions of adversaries in the military arena, there were devices to probe, scan and give early indications of the battle but most of the decisions were taken with impulse and depending on the best strategy. Military decisions involve ‘emotional intelligence' described by Daniel Goleman as ‘perceiving, using, understanding and managing the emotions of competitors'. Constraints, barriers, tactics, suitability, feasibility, technology etc were the keywords for framing military strategy. For any strategy to be successful, it must be consistent with characteristics of the firm's / organisation's external and internal environments, Lt. Col. Tensingh asserted. College principal A Sudhakar, Director of Management Studies Surya Prakash Rao, NCC officer Chittaranjan Das and others were present.
