Workshop on energy management

TIRUCHI: A one-day workshop on efficient energy management techniques and electrical safety was organised jointly by the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Association of the Indra Ganesan College of Engineering and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) on the college premises here recently.

The Senior Manager, Technical Training and Development Centre, TNEB, F. X. Mary Magdalin Princy, in her inaugural address spoke about the increasing power consumption and the contribution of various energy sources to meet the demand.

She also highlighted the cost effective energy management techniques that needed to be followed in day-to-day life.

In the session that followed, Mrs. Princy delivered a paper on the topic ‘energy management techniques'.

In the other session, N. Gayathri, assistant engineer, TNEB, spoke on ‘electrical safety' when she explained the various safety measures to be applied in the field of electrical and electronics.

G.Balakrishnan, Director, Indra Ganesan Group of Institution, Principal V. Rajaman, and head, EEE Department of the college, spoke .

Participants were also briefed on the recent measures taken by the government for energy management a press release here said.Students and staff from different engineering colleges participated in the programme.
