Industrial trade fair from September 1

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore District Small Industries' Association (CODISSIA) will organise the 12 {+t} {+h} edition of Industrial Trade Fair (INTEC) here from September 1 to 5.

According to V. Sundar Rajulu, Chairman of INTEC 2010, the event will focus on machine tools and automation. Companies from Italy, Germany and Singapore will display their latest machinery and the local dealers of several other foreign firms will also participate.

As the product manufacturers are hit by shortage of trained, skilled manpower, the machinery manufacturers are looking at improvement of productivity and automation and better material handling in the existing machinery. The machinery manufacturers will display the improvements made in the machinery on these fronts. Many of them have also added energy conservation features in the machinery and these will also be exhibited.

Industries are doing well in Coimbatore and entrepreneurs are willing to invest now. Compared to last year, the banks are getting more number of applications for loans to invest in machinery. “Almost every unit is full of orders. They are unable to service the orders and are in need of more machinery to meet the demand,” he says.

Some of the micro and small participants are assisted by SIDBI and NSIC to take part in the exhibition, he says.
