Arshad takes over as HCA chief

HYDERABAD: Former Test star Arshad Ayub has taken over as the president of Hyderabad Cricket Association at the annual general meeting of HCA late on Sunday night at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here.

The much expected fireworks did not really take place despite the incumbent president G. Vinod's pronounced inclination to stay on for another term. Going by the HCA Constitution, the executive committee decided to endorse its earlier decision to nominate Arshad Ayub as the next president.

Later, all the HCA officials thanked Mr. Jayesh Ranjan for his ‘deft handling of the demanding task of holding the elections despite so much pressure from different quarters and ensuring free and fair elections'.

List of executive members:

A-Division: R. Vijayanand, T. Seshnarayan, Syed Moizuddin, M. Narender Goud, Purushotham Aggarwal, K. Bhanu Prasad.

B-Division: T. Basava Raju, R. Devraj.

C-Division: E. Gopal, Srinivas Reddy.

D-Division: D. Narsing Rao, Surender K. Agarwal .
