Meet on rain preparedness in a week

Bangalore: To address rain-related problems in the city, a meeting of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials will be convened in a week, Transport Minister R. Ashok, also in-charge of Bangalore Urban District, told presspersons here on Monday. Mayor S.K. Nataraj has been instructed to take stock of the civic body's rain preparedness. Functioning of a control room, availability of manpower and equipment, strategies to prevent of flooding low-lying areas will be discussed. Illegal constructions on raja kaluves and tank beds will be demolished, he said.
