HYDERABAD: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Monday dropped broad hints of obstructing Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu's proposed dharna at Bayyaram in Khammam district this month end as it had reasons to suspect the intention behind the programme. The JAC chairman M. Kodandaram said the organisation apprehended that Mr. Naidu wanted to stage the dharna against granting of iron ore mining lease to Rakshana Steel for a share in the deal. Its doubts were fuelled by Mr. Naidu's record in supporting privatisation when he was Chief Minister. The JAC would take a decision on his programme in this background, he told a meeting to mark the launch of Telangana Film Protection Force. Mr. Kodandaram demanded that the monopoly of film industry led by people from coastal districts should go in Hyderabad and said it was unfortunate that the government was in nexus with them because they brought investments. He also demanded forty per cent share in the revenue of the industry for artistes and other workers in film production from Telangana. The share was sought because the industry exploited resources in the region. Former Naxalite leader Sambasivudu said the film industry representing interests of coastal districts took care to see that an alternate network in Telangana did not develop. The producer of ‘Yamalokam lo Jai Telangana' film Rasamai Balkishan said the film was a satire on Yamadharma wanting to book cases against youth who ended lives for Telangana.
