Rosaiah buys ticket for a play at Ravindra Bharathi

HYDERABAD: The 139 {+t} {+h} birthday celebrations of ‘Andhra Kesari' Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was celebrated with a play based on his life, ‘Prajanayakudu Prakasam', at the Ravindra Bharathi here on Monday.

Interestingly, not many noticed it, but Chief Minister K. Rosaiah pulled out a currency note of Rs. 10 from his ‘kurta' and bought a ticket at the VIP entrance to the hall.

The play, written and directed by M. Nagabhushana Sarma was being performed for the 28 {+t} {+h} time with assistance from cultural organisations in the twin cities, including ‘Rasaranjani' and ‘Aakruti.

Before the curtains for the play were lifted, the Chief Minister went down memory lane and recalled how as a student he had the fortune of meeting Prakasam Pantulu. It was imperative that the youth of the today imbibe the qualities of the freedom fighter and strive to uphold his lofty ideals. Mr. Rosaiah recalled the bravery and the fierce courage that Prakasam Pantulu was known for and recalled how he stood up to anybody with conviction.
