Velammal ‘A' triumphs

Chennai: Velammal MHSS ‘A' team won the Amutha Team inter-school chess tournament here recently.

It finished first from among 23 teams that participated in the tournament with Modern SHSS finishing second.

The results:

1. Velammal ‘A' (P. Lokesh, S. Jitendriavel, K.G. Chaithanya, S. Prasanna) 18 points; 2. Modern (Akash Iyer, K. Abshuman, V. Shvetha, T. Vishwanath) 17.5; 3. Velammal ‘B' (L. Barath, A.R. Osama Salim, P. Ganesh, J. Janani) 16.
