Kancheepuram in trouble

CHENNAI: Wilson's four wickets helped Vellore reduce Kancheepuram to 93 for six on a rain-shortened second day of the three-day TNCA under-14 inter-district cricket tournament here on Monday.

At Coimbatore, the host thrashed Nagapattinam by an innings and two runs to enter the final.

Chasing Nagapattinam's first innings total of 94, Coimbatore posted 145. It bundled out the visiting side for 71 in the second essay with leg-spinner S. Kiran returning a five-wicket haul.

The scores (s emifinals):

At Chennai: Kancheepuram 93 for six in 47.4 overs (S. Swaminathan 36, R. Sundar 29 batting, Wilson four for 34) vs. Vellore .

At Coimbatore: Nagapattinam 72 & 71 in 37.2 overs (S. Kiran five for 14) lost to Coimbatore 145 in 87.2 overs (B. Iyyappan four for 49).
