T. Ekambavanan, vice-president, Krishnagiri District Small and Tiny Industries Association, speaking at a meeting at the Government Arts College for Men, Krishnagiri on Thursday.

KRISHNAGIRI: Students should strive to become job providers instead of job-seekers, said T. Ekambavanan, vice-president, KRIDISTIA, here on Thursday. He was presiding over a meeting on “Industrial motivation and dissemination'' organised jointly by the Krishnagiri District Small and Tiny Industries Association (KRIDISTIA) and District Industries Centre at the Government Arts College for Men in Krishnagiri.

He said programmes such as these were conducted to motivate students to become entrepreneurs and succeed in their endeavour.

Self-confidence, positive thinking and self-motivation are the ingredients that will help one become a successful entrepreneur.

The scope of getting funds to start a venture was immense. The Union and state governments were offering various soft loans with subsidy, he said.

R. Thirumavalavan, manager, Lead District Bank explained various loan facilities offered by banks through District Industries Centre, TAHDCO, TIDCO and loans for self-employment through Prime Ministers' Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP).

D. Mohana Rangan, general manager, District Industries Centre, explained various schemes offered by the government.

Over a hundred students from Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce attended the meeting.
