‘Sarvajanik Bhajani Saptah' gets under way

PANAJI: Goa Minister for Transport Sudin Dhavalikar participated in the annual “Sarvajanik Bhajani Saptah” of the Shree Naguesh Maharudra Devasthan at Nageshi Bandora in Ponda taluk which began on Thursday.

The highlight of the event will be a rendition of traditional bhajans by artistes from Bandora and its surrounding areas 24x7 till the programme concludes on September 2. The weeklong programme will conclude with celebrations of “Govinda” at 12 p.m. on September 2. Various tableaux will be displayed in the area.

“This event was restarted 58 years ago after it was discontinued for a few years,” Anant H. Naik, president of Bhajani Sapthah Committee said.
