Inspiration Forever: Striking photos accompanied Mother Teresa's quotes

Bangalore: In tribute to Mother Teresa, a two-day exhibition that displays her life and teachings was held at the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral premises on Thursday and Friday.

Some quotes were taken from her memoir and others were from her speeches. Striking photographs accompanied the display.

Several visitors, including schoolchildren, thronged the exhibition that was inaugurated by Archbishop of Bangalore Bernard Moras on Thursday to mark the saint's birth centenary. A number of students were seen taking down notes from her life and teachings.

The event was organised in association with the Missionaries of Charity, which has three branches in Bangalore. The oldest, Shishu Bhavan, is on Davis Road while Nirmal Hruday is in Yelahanka. The third is in M.S Palya on the way to Hesarghatta. Martin Jose of Lay Missionaries of Charity (LMC), who has met Mother Teresa four times, said he felt blessed to have met her.

On Thursday, when the exhibition was closing for the day, a young lad requested the organisers to let him linger on for a while. He said: “Just looking at her life is inspiring.”
