Contract staff to stage dharna tomorrow

Correspondent

They demand wages on the basis of PRC and extend facilities like ESI and PF

VIZIANAGARAM: Contract and outsourcing employees working in various government departments will stage a dharna at the Collector's office on Monday demanding wage hike.

A.P. State Government Contract and Outsourcing Employees' Federation convener G. Appala Suri said that they were being paid meagre wages in spite of discharging duties on par with permanent employees in various departments. The wages were also not being paid regularly.

The government had revised salaries of permanent employees last year but did not increase their wages in tune with soaring prices of essential commodities, he lamented in a release.

He demanded wages on the basis of PRC and extend facilities like ESI and PF to them. He appealed to all contract and outsourcing employees to participate in the dharna on that day.
