Dacoits gun down security guard, loot cash

Bolangir: A security guard of a country liquor distillery was shot dead by armed dacoits in Bolangir district, police said on Saturday.

The miscreants raided the distillery at Bhutiabahal, about 20 km from here last night and shot dead its security guard identified as Umesh Singh (55), who hailed from Aurangabad district in Bihar, they said. The dacoits first allegedly assaulted the employees of the unit including Singh after its manager did not part with the key of the cash locker. As Singh managed to overpower one of the criminals, another dacoit shot him dead from close range, they said. -PTI
