KCR defends OU attack

‘Students only demanding Telangana lecturers as evaluators'

‘Students staged a protest only to highlight the biased evaluation by Seemandhra lecturers'

over 20,000 Telangana students failed in different tests due to biased evaluation: KCR

MAHABUBNAGAR: Telangana Rastra Samithi(TRS) chief and MP from Mahabubnagar K.Chandrasekhar Rao defended the protest demonstration of some students on Saturday at Osmania University campus where spot valuation of B.Ed examination papers was underway.

Addressing public meetings at Pebbair mandal headquarters and Mahabubnagar town on Sunday, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said the students went there to express their fear and concern to the authorities that lecturers belonging to Rayelasseema and Andhra regions who were evaluating the answer sheets were biased and acting against the interests of Telangana students.

All through their demonstration the students were peaceful and they only wanted lecturers from Telangana region as evaluators, he added.

He recalled the instances when zero marks were reportedly awarded to SSC, Intermediate students of Telangana region whose answer sheets were evaluated by lecturers from Kurnool, Kadapa and other Seemandhra districts.

“A Warangal student who was given zero marks, got 78 marks when the answer sheet was revaluated but by that time the student committed suicide in distress,” he claimed.

Mr. Rao said over 20,000 Telangana students failed due to the biased evaluation of answer scripts by Seemandhra Teachers. He ridiculed the Governor, Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and PRP chief Chiranjeevi for demanding stern action against the OU students. “What have you done when Government employees, RTC drivers and conductors and labourers who went to Seemandhra districts for livelihood were attacked and forced to leave their region,” he asked them.

The Government should register cases first against all those who attacked Telangana people in Seemandhra regions. The TRS chief said that Telangana would get its share of river waters only in a separate State. Citing the example of Seemandhra leaders ‘highhanded' behaviour at RDS, he accused Kurnool leaders of acting like goons and damaging RDS shutters every now and then.

TDP workers join TRS

At the two public meetings, large number of workers from TDP and PRP joined the TRS. TRS polit bureau member S. Niranjan Reddy and district party chief Vittal Rao and Arya were also present.
