3 held in chain snatching cases

VIJAYAWADA: The city police arrested three persons, who were allegedly involved in chain snatching cases, here on Sunday. Ganapati Harish, a resident of Krishnalanka, Rajesh, of Talluru village, and Raju, of Komatikuntalakulu, formed a team to snatch gold and jewellery.

They allegedly snatched gold chains in four incidents from different localities in the city. The police recovered gold ornaments worth of Rs. 1.70 lakh from their possession.

In another incident, Anil, a resident of Undavalli centre in Guntur district, who is allegedly involved in house breaking, was arrested on Sunday.

The police recovered gold weighing 2.5 tolas and 200 grams silver from his possession.
