VISAKHAPATNAM: Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College has been sanctioned an engineering college exclusively for women on its campus. The Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Department has issued GO MS No. 150 dated August 28, 2010, sanctioning the college. According to director of the college K. Bhaskara Reddy, the admissions will be made through EAMCET-2010 counselling. Dr. L. Bullayya College of Engineering for Women will start admission into four branches – electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, civil engineering and Computer Science and engineering – from the academic year 2010-11. Sixty students would be admitted into each branch and seats are under self-finance category with a fee of Rs.31,100. The counselling code of EAMCET-2010 for Bullayya College of Engineering for Women is BULL, he added. A retired faculty member of Andhra University Chemical Engineering Department and former president of AUTA Samibi Reddy has been appointed principal of the new college. Secretary and Correspondent of Dr. L. Bullaya Colleges G. Madhukunar thanked the Union Minister of State for HRD D. Purandeswari, Principal Secretary to Government (Higher Education) C.R. Biswal, APSCHE, AU V-C Beela Satyanarayana, AU Registrar PVGD Prasad Reddy, Dean Suryanarayna Raju and principal of AU College of Engineering GSN Raju for helping the institution set up the new engineering college for women on Bullayya College campus.
