Science talent search examination

COIMBATORE: Velammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chennai, is conducting Velammal's State Level Science Talent Search Exam.

A release said this year the organisers were conducting the exam at six levels – Level I: Standards I and II; Level II: Standards III and IV; Level III: Standards V and VI; Level IV: Standard VII and VIII; Level V: Standard IX and X; and, Level VI: Plus-One and Plus-Two.

The preliminary rounds would be conducted at the participating schools. And the final round would be at the twelve designated regional headquarters: Chennai, Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, Madurai, Nagercoil, Pondicherry, Salem, Thanjavur, Theni, Tirunelveli, Tiruchi and Vellore.

The medium of examination would be English and the duration: 90 minutes. Cash awards of Rs. 3.95 lakh would be provided to winners of the six levels. The preliminary rounds would be held on October 23, 2010, and the finals on January 9, 2011.
