VIJAYAWADA: NCA ‘Blue' won the National Cricket Academy practice tournament that concluded at Rural Development Trust ground at Anantapur on Monday. In the T-20 match held on Monday, NCA ‘Red' defeated NCA ‘Blue' by seven runs. Rumelidhar and Lalitha Sharma were declared best batswoman and best bowler, while Mithali Raj was declared as best fielder. Harmeen Preet Kaur emerged as the player of the tournament. The scores: NCA ‘Red' 76 in 18.1 overs (Mithali Raj 21, Reema Malhorta two for eight, Preeti Dimri two for 10, Rumelidhar two for 12) bt NCA ‘Blue' 69 for seven in 20 overs (Lalitha Kumari 22, Snehali Pradhan two for five, Nidhi two for 13). Good spell Bharat Reddy's six for 76 helped North Zone restrict South Zone to 271 in the ACA inter-zonal U-22 tournament for the Irwin Boatyard Cup at Venkatagiri on Monday. At close of play, North Zone was five for one in its second innings. The organisers have decided to continue the game on Tuesday to compensate the loss of play on Sunday owing to rain. Washed out The ACA inter-zonal U-19 women's match between South Zone and North Zone was washed out at Guntur due to heavy rain. Chinese women's team for Guntur A 20-member Chinese women's team will undergo a week-long training at Andhra Cricket Association's cricket academy for women at JKC College at Guntur from September 2, said former India international and ACA Director of Operations M.S.K.
