Burns ward planned at Government Hospital

KARUR: Plans are under way top establish an exclusive burns ward at a cost of Rs.36 lakh at the Government Hospital here.

Sources said the Karur Bio Gas Crematorium Trust had collected a sum of Rs.12 lakh and has donated the amount as part of the public share under the ‘Namakku Naame' scheme to establish the 10-bed exclusive burns ward at the GH.

Medical professionals said patients who had suffered up to 40 per cent burns could be saved or purposeful attempt could be made to save them by providing timely medical aid . Accidental burns or those attempting self- immolation could hope for survival in case there was an exclusive burns ward with air condition facilities, they said.
