Satyam: inventory of documents made
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The court proceedings on Monday as part of the trial in the Satyam Computers fraud case were limited to making an inventory of documents supplied to V.S. Prabhakar Gupta, the last accused and former global head of internal audit department of the company.
Mr. Gupta expressed inability to present his case to the court a few days ago as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had not supplied to him the complete set of documents which were made available to the other accused.
On the other hand, the CBI maintained that it did not depend on papers which were not supplied to him in seeking to prosecute him.
Full compliment
Mr. Gupta, however, insisted on the full compliment of documents to advance his argument which the court agreed.
When the proceedings began, the magistrate of the special court trying the accused in the scam enquired if Mr. Gupta received all the papers.
Documents pending
He replied that he was still not given six documents. The CBI arranged to meet the demand in the evening.
