Online facilities for job-seekers

Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: Employment seekers in Haryana would not have to visit the offices of employment exchanges to get their names registered as online registration facilities are being launched from September 1, Labour and Employment Minister Mahender Pratap Singh said here on Monday.

He further said that services of the department including registration of job-seekers, registration of employers and posting of their vacancies, vocational or career guidance, disbursement of unemployment allowance and employment market information would be made available to the public online through www.hrex.org

After online registration, the applicants would have to send the attested copies of their testimonials to the local employment exchange for validation.

He further said that the applicants who were already registered with the different employment exchanges would also have to register themselves online.

Popular among consumers

Meanwhile, the facility of online payment of electricity bills provided by Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Hisar districts is becoming popular among consumers as more than Rs. 85 lakh has been received online during the last two weeks, an official spokesman said here on Monday.

He disclosed that with the launching of this facility on August 16, the consumers in Faridabad, Gurgaon and Hisar need not go to the DHBVN offices to pay their bills.

The facility had been made available through DHBVN's website www.dhbvn.com to about six lakh consumers of 18 urban operation sub-divisions in Faridabad, Gurgaon and Hisar. The payment could be made through Internet banking, credit card (Diners Club International, Master Card and Visa) and debit card of 27 banks
