NEW DELHI: Grandmaster Deep Sengupta collected 31 points in the past two months to be among the country's top-10 lplayers when the world ranking list came into effect from Wednesday. Sengupta holds the 10th place in the list with a career-high rating of 2558. Sandipan Chanda was the other top-10 player to reach his life-best rating of 2641. Among the leading Indians, while Viswanathan Anand (2800) was inactive during the last two months, K. Sasikiran (2681) gained two points and moved one place higher for a ranking of 56. However, Surya Shekhar Ganguly (2650) and P. Hari Krishna (2645) slipped. Ganguly lost five points and dropped seven places since July 1 world rankings to be placed 91st. Hari lost one point but slipped six places to be 96th. Carlsen still on top In the world top-10 list, top three players — Magnus Carlsen, Veselin Topalov and Anand — remained inactive and retained their positions. The lists: World (top-10): 1.
