RAJAHMUNDRY: Chief General Manager, BSNL, Andhra Pradesh, T.N. Sudhindra Kumar, has lauded the services and innovative schemes being launched in East Godavari district.

Inaugurating the round-the-clock broadband call centre through Net conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Kumar said that East Godavari stood first in the county on many fronts. The call centre was an innovative scheme through which 50 per cent of broadband-related problems would be solved.

He asked the employees and field-level staff to be alert and solve customers' problems. He said that the staff at call centres should be courteous and suggestive while receiving the call and awareness was most important in solving the problem.

General Manager, BSNL, East Godavari, G. Raghavendra Rao, said that every service provider was struggling to retain the customers and admitted that they too were losing a lot of customers in a month due to difficulties in providing services in time.

Outdoor faults

He said that the new call centre, with toll-free number 12678, would work round the clock. Efforts would be made to address any broadband-related problem within five minutes and before a maximum of three hours. He said outdoor faults would be rectified from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and before a maximum of 24 hours. DGM (Broadband) G.V. Manoj Kumar said that an SMS “BBFLT” to 9490000549 would also help rectify broadband-related problems along with toll-free number. He said that there were 30,000 broadband connections in the district.

DGM (CellOne) VVRLN Varaprasad, DGM, Kakinada, P. Krishna Prasad, and other officials participated.
