Guwahati: A senior executive of a cement company was kidnapped at gunpoint from Jorabat, on the city outskirts on Thursday.
Police said the Director of Star Cement, Narendra Nimodia was abducted by four unidentified gunmen from a roadside restaurant. The company's office in the city received a call from Mr. Nimodia that he had been kidnapped and was being taken towards Digaru. The connection got cut and when the office tried to contact him on his cell phone, it was found to be switched off.
Police are still clueless if the abduction was by a militant outfit or a gang of anti-socials.
