VELLORE: Representatives of Information Technology (IT) companies, representatives of the Tamil Nadu government and a sole IT entrepreneur of Vellore will be participating in a panel discussion on ‘Vellore as an IT destination' to be held as part of the on-going Vellore Book Fair at the fort maidan here on Saturday. According to M.A. Sivakumar, Managing Director of BSG Leather Link, Chennai, coordinator of the discussion, the panel discussion is expected to bring out what kind of infrastructure the IT companies expect in Vellore for them to set up new business in this part of Tamil Nadu, while the entrepreneur who has set up a software company in Vellore would spell out the benefits of setting up an IT company in Vellore, and the shortcomings in infrastructure to the prospective IT entrepreneurs. The government representatives are expected to respond to the needs and spell out the steps taken by them to facilitate the setting up of an IT Park in Vellore, as promised by the Tamil Nadu government. A. Balachandran, General Manager, VIT Technology Business Incubator, Vellore, A.J. Balasubramanian of CareVoyant Technologies Private Limited, Chennai, A. Kumaran of Multilingual Systems Research of Microsoft Research India and Narain of Bookflip are among the participants in the discussion to be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
