Workshop on energy saving held

VELLORE: An awareness workshop on energy saving and safety was conducted at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Katpadi on Tuesday. A team comprising C. Murali Prasad, Senior Manager, Pon. G. Ethiraj, junior electrical engineer and K. Somasundaram of the Technology Training and Development Centre of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board conducted the workshop. The members of the team explained the methods of saving electricity, energy savings and safety and environmental protection, and the causes of electrical accidents, acid rains and global warming to the students.

K. Vijayalakshmi, Headmistress of the school presided. G. Somasundaram, Assistant Headmaster and V. Murugesan, teacher spoke. K. Raja, vocational teacher (electronics) welcomed the gathering. K.P. Sivagnanam, vocational teacher (electronics) proposed a vote of thanks. About 200 students participated in the workshop.
